Staffing the UCAB Psicolínea as a volunteer psychologist

Backed by: PsicoData / School of Psychology, Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB)

Psychologists and advanced students linked to UCAB can join the Psicolínea: psychological first aid by phone for earthquake survivors.

WarningVerify the channel before acting. The activation was announced as temporary and open recruitment of external volunteers is not documented: confirm through the official channel that the program is still active and accepts your profile before committing.

What it does

PsicoData, the mental-health observatory of UCAB's School of Psychology, reinforced its Psicolínea after the quake: a free, anonymous, confidential phone line for psychological first aid and crisis intervention, staffed by specialists and UCAB volunteers. The School and the Padre Luis Azagra Psychology Unit train the volunteers.

How to take part

  1. Write to UCAB's School of Psychology / PsicoData expressing interest in staffing the line or in the volunteer training in psychological first aid.
  2. Reach out through PsicoData's official channels (@psicodatavzla and the UCAB School of Psychology website) to confirm shifts and the current sign-up process.
  3. If you are part of UCAB, follow the internal channel of the Padre Luis Azagra Psychology Unit in Social Outreach.
  4. To refer someone who needs the line (not to offer yourself): 0414-121-7882 and 0424-172-3981.
