What it does
Free, in-person blood donation at the Antonio María Pineda Central Hospital bank. One voluntary donation can help several patients (red cells, plasma, platelets). In normal operation it takes 60 to 80 donors a day.
How to take part
- Meet the requirements: 18-65, over 50 kg, good health, no recent flu or antibiotics, no hepatitis after age 10, tattoos or piercings older than one year.
- Come after a light breakfast, well rested and with no alcohol in the prior 72 hours, and bring your ID.
- Arrive early: they have historically handed out numbers between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m.
