The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is one of the largest Jewish federations in the United States, active since 1938. After the two earthquakes of June 24 in northern Venezuela it opened the “Venezuela Earthquakes Relief Fund,” which states that 100% of what is raised goes to those affected. The money is delivered on the ground through the JDC (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee), which works with Venezuela’s Jewish community and local partners to distribute food, water, medicine and shelter. Donors abroad pay in dollars by card to the Miami office, without touching accounts inside Venezuela.
